US President Trump slammed school districts that are hesitant to reopen for in-person classes in the fall over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic, telling CBS News that the districts were making a "terrible decision."

“What do you tell parents and teachers who feel that it is unsafe to go back?”
特朗普說：“我要告訴家長和老師們，你們應該給自己換個做決定的人，因為這（不開學）是個糟糕的決定。”
"I would tell parents and teachers that you should find yourself a new person whoever is in charge of that decision, because it's a terrible decision."
特朗普還聲稱，如果學校不開學，家長孩子會因為心理創(chuàng)傷而死掉……
“孩子和家長正因為心理創(chuàng)傷而死去。他們快死了，是因為他們做不了想做的事。媽媽們不能去上班，因為突然間他們都得待在家里看孩子，爸爸們也一樣。”
“Because children and parents are dying from that trauma, too. They're dying because they can't do what they're doing. Mothers can't go to work because all of a sudden they have to stay home and watch their child, and fathers,” the president said.
The president said that being unable to send children to school puts a "tremendous strain" on parents, and called the issue a "balancing act."
盡管美國新冠疫情數(shù)據(jù)仍在“屢創(chuàng)新高”，特朗普卻不斷強調學校應在秋季開學。
"We have to open our schools," Mr. Trump said. The president has repeatedly pushed for reopening schools and universities in the fall, even as coronavirus cases climb in dozens of states.
然而，美國總統(tǒng)其實并沒有權力要求學校何時復課……
7月，紐約州州長安德魯·科莫就曾在記者會上表示，
各州將自行決定學校何時復課，美國憲法規(guī)定總統(tǒng)無權干涉， “特朗普想要學校復課，這事可由不得他 (He wants the school reopened, it’s not up to him.)”

不過，據(jù)《每日郵報》報道，特朗普威脅稱，如果不開學，
他就撤回聯(lián)邦給學校提供的資金。
“在德國、丹麥、挪威、瑞典和很多很多其他國家，學校都開學了，沒有任何問題。民主黨認為美國學校要是在11月大選前開學會對他們不利。但是開學對孩子和家長來說很重要。如果還不開，我可能會削減（給學校的）資金！”
'In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS. The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is important for the children & families. May cut off funding if not open!' the president threatened.
