當(dāng)?shù)貢r間5月5日，歐洲議會議員米克·華萊士（Mick Wallace）在推特上發(fā)布并置頂了自己在議會的發(fā)言視頻，他細(xì)數(shù)中國脫貧攻堅、抗擊疫情等方面的成果，并發(fā)出靈魂拷問：“或許我們能跟中國學(xué)到點什么吧？”

在該條推特的推文中，華萊士質(zhì)問：“為什么歐盟允許美國把我們拖入與中國的對抗中？（Why is the EU allowing the US to drag us into confrontation with China...?）”



視頻中他列舉了幾條中國的成就，“中國剛剛完成了人類歷史上最偉大的減貧計劃，而反觀西方國家，無家可歸者人數(shù)創(chuàng)造了新的記錄。”
“They have just completed the greatest poverty reduction program in human history. While homelessness in the West is at a record-breaking proportion.”

“在緩解氣候變化的問題上，中國也是世界領(lǐng)先。”
“China is a world leader on climate change mitigation strategies.”

“中國還是最懂得如何應(yīng)對新冠疫情的國家之一，體現(xiàn)在國內(nèi)（防控）和幫助他國方面。”
“China has one of the best COVID strategies on Earth, at home and helping others.”

“中國正在建設(shè)各種基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施和公共服務(wù)項目，而這些對我們來說只是夢想。”
“China is building all kinds of infrastructure and public services projects that we could only dream about here.”

接著，他反問道：“這個有著近6000年歷史、擁有14億人口的國家，在人類進(jìn)步的幾乎每個指標(biāo)上都超過了北半球國家，而且不侵略、不轟炸、不往死里制裁任何國家，也許能給我們一些啟示吧？或許我們能跟他們學(xué)到點什么吧？”

“Is it not that the 1.4 billion people of the nearly 6000-year-old country that has managed to surpass the Global North in nearly every index of human progress, while not invading or bombing or sanctioning any countries to death, may have something to teach us? Maybe we could learn something from them?”

之后，華萊士發(fā)出三連問：

“為什么我們要對中國咄咄逼人？為什么我們不選擇合作而是要攻擊？為什么我們不尊重國家主權(quán)和堅持不干涉原則呢？”
“Why are we choosing an aggressive position with China? Why are we not choosing cooperation instead of aggression? Why are we not respecting the principle of state sovereignty and non-interference?”



他直言：“我不禁感到我們正被美國牽著鼻子走，他們?nèi)缃窈椭袊鴮故且驗橛欣蓤D，并非因為中國對美國人民的安全造成了威脅，因為根本沒這回事，而是中國對美國的金融霸權(quán)構(gòu)成了威脅。”
“I can't help feeling that we're being led along by the nose by the Americans, who have a vested interest in challenging China at the moment, not because China is a threat to the security of the American people, because it isn't, but China is a threat to their financial supremacy.”

最后他提醒歐盟，“我們不會爭奪金融霸主地位，我們需要和中國合作，建立積極的關(guān)系。”
“We’re not going to compete with them for financial supremacy. We need to work with them and have a positive relationship with them.”
