據(jù)央視新聞報道，記者從北京大學獲悉，6月17日，我國翻譯界泰斗、北京大學新聞與傳播學院教授許淵沖先生在北京逝世，享年100歲。

Xu Yuanchong, China's most renowned master translator, died in Beijing at the age of 100 on Thursday, according to Peking University.

被譽為“詩譯英法唯一人”，也被稱為“譯界狂人”的許淵沖，曾這樣告訴CGTN記者，“‘書銷中外百余本，詩譯英法唯一人。’ 這好像是我的老師說我的。這是事實嘛。”



With over 100 books sold at home and abroad, he’s the only one who translates Chinese poetry into both English and French. “That’s what my teacher said about me, and it is the truth.” Xu Yuanchong made the remarks when discussing his translation works during an exclusive interview with CGTN.

許淵沖畢生鐘情翻譯中國古典詩文，將一生的心血都奉獻于此，共完成了一百多本譯作，包括《詩經(jīng)》《楚辭》《李白詩選》《西廂記》《紅與黑》《包法利夫人》《追憶似水年華》等中外名著。他是亞洲首位“北極光”杰出文學翻譯獎獲得者。

Xu was best known for his translations of ancient Chinese poems into English and French that have gained worldwide recognition. He was the first Asian translator to win the Aurora Borealis Prize for Outstanding Translation of Fiction Literature – one of the highest honors among international translators. Today, more than 100 kinds of Xu's books have been sold at home and abroad.

除了古典文學，許淵沖也曾英譯毛主席的詩詞。許淵沖的老師錢鐘書先生，曾在信中稱贊他英譯的《毛澤東詩詞》：“你帶著音韻和節(jié)奏的鐐銬跳舞，靈活自如，令人驚奇”。

“人生最大的樂趣，就是和喜歡的人在一起，做喜歡做的事；把一個國家創(chuàng)造的美，轉(zhuǎn)化為全世界的美，這是全世界最大的樂趣。” 提起自己一生所追求熱愛的翻譯事業(yè)，許淵沖曾這樣說。



"The greatest joy of an individual is to be with the people you like and do what you like to do. The greatest joy on the earth is to introduce the beauty created by a people to the whole world," Xu once said.

2021年百歲生日之時，許淵沖曾接受央視《面對面》采訪。當被記者問到有什么生日愿望時，他笑著說，“我現(xiàn)在只要不要死，能夠活下去一天，做一天，多做一點貢獻，多找點接班人。”

“文化沒有止境，人類進步也沒有止境。”許淵沖說，“將來就看你們了。我認為可以的。我可以超過前人，后人也可以超過我。”



而在今年“六一”兒童節(jié)時，100歲的他是這樣寄語后人的：“好上加好，精益求精，不到絕頂，永遠不停。”
