馬爾迪尼4歲起開始學(xué)習(xí)游泳
成為游泳運動員后
還曾代表敘利亞參加過
2012年的世界游泳錦標賽

2015年，她和家人不得不逃離
戰(zhàn)火紛飛的敘利亞
搭乘橡皮艇前往歐洲
然而，途中擠著20人的小艇
意外破損、險些傾覆
生死關(guān)頭
她和姐姐還有兩位同伴
跳入冰冷的海水
邊游邊推著皮艇前行
熬過了漫長的3個半小時
最終抵達希臘，救下了全艇的人

之后，馬爾迪尼和家人輾轉(zhuǎn)到了德國
繼續(xù)追逐游泳的夢想

Surviving a traumatic journey from the Middle East to Europe in an inflatable boat in 2015, the young woman made her way to Germany, trying to fulfill her dream of a life in peace after growing up in a war-torn country.

After the family home was destroyed during the civil war in Syria, the little boat carrying 20 people took on water. With no other choice, Mardini and her sister, along with two other refugees jumped into the roaring sea, and dragged the small vessel for more than three hours to the Greek island of Lesbos.

我從未想到能成為現(xiàn)在的自己。”
