9月21日，在第76屆聯(lián)合國大會會一般性辯論的開幕致辭中，聯(lián)合國秘書長安東尼奧·古特雷斯（Antonio Guterres）向世界發(fā)出警告稱，“我在這里發(fā)出警告，世界必須清醒過來。我們正處于深淵的邊緣，而且正朝著錯誤的方向前進（I am here to sound the alarm: the world must wake up. We are on the edge of an abyss and moving in the wrong direction.）……”

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres told other world leaders during his opening remarks at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday that the billionaires' race to space demonstrated massive gaps between the poor and the uber-wealthy.

Though the billionaires were only in orbit for a matter of moments, the trips cost billions of dollars and attracted a worldwide audience. Both billionaires received heavy criticism later, as people called for the men to pay higher taxes.

據(jù)聯(lián)合國7月12日在紐約總部發(fā)布的《世界糧食安全和營養(yǎng)狀況》報告顯示，2020年全球約十分之一人口面臨食物不足困境。其中，亞洲面臨糧食短缺的人口為4.18億，非洲2.82億。
