外交部發(fā)言人趙立堅(jiān)17日在例行記者會(huì)上表示，中國(guó)的目標(biāo)從來(lái)不是超越或者取代美國(guó)，不是為了跟美國(guó)搞你輸我贏的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)，而是不斷超越自我，成為更好的中國(guó)，讓中國(guó)人民過(guò)上更好的生活。

有記者提問(wèn)，美國(guó)總統(tǒng)拜登在11月16日中美元首會(huì)晤的當(dāng)天，正式簽署了此前通過(guò)的1.2萬(wàn)億美元的基建法案。白宮發(fā)言人普薩基表示，中美元首會(huì)晤是美方同中方建立競(jìng)爭(zhēng)條款的良好機(jī)會(huì)，請(qǐng)問(wèn)中方對(duì)此有何評(píng)論?

趙立堅(jiān)表示，美國(guó)如何發(fā)展自己是美國(guó)內(nèi)政。我曾經(jīng)在中國(guó)駐美國(guó)使館工作多年，對(duì)美國(guó)的情況有一些了解，我們樂(lè)見(jiàn)美國(guó)取得更大的發(fā)展進(jìn)步。

I would like to stress that how the US intends to invest in itself is its domestic affair. I worked in the Chinese Embassy in the US for many years and have some idea about the conditions in the country. For our part, we would be glad to see the US making greater progress at home.

中國(guó)的目標(biāo)從來(lái)不是超越或者取代美國(guó)，不是為了跟美國(guó)搞你輸我贏的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)，而是不斷超越自我，成為更好的中國(guó)，讓中國(guó)人民過(guò)上更好的生活。

It is never China's goal to surpass or replace the US or engage in zero-sum competition with it. Our goal is to constantly surpass ourselves, become a better version of ourselves and enable the Chinese people to lead better lives. 

趙立堅(jiān)指出，作為世界前兩大經(jīng)濟(jì)體，中美利益高度交融，中美合則兩利，斗則俱傷。無(wú)論是從中美兩國(guó)人民還是世界各國(guó)人民的共同利益出發(fā)，合作才是中美唯一的正確選擇。

As the two largest economies in the world, China and the US have deeply-intertwined interests. Both stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation. For the sake of the Chinese and American people and for the sake of people of the whole world, cooperation is the only right choice for our two countries.

美方應(yīng)該端正心態(tài)，理性看待中國(guó)和中國(guó)的發(fā)展，為中美關(guān)系健康穩(wěn)定發(fā)展發(fā)揮建設(shè)性作用。

The US should adjust its mentality, look at China and its development in a rational light, and play a constructive role in the sound and steady development of bilateral relations.
