2019年，當(dāng)美國非裔歌手、演員海莉·貝利（Halle Bailey）確認(rèn)出演真人版《小美人魚》電影的消息傳出后，網(wǎng)上就出現(xiàn)了反對的聲音。

如今，真人版電影預(yù)告片發(fā)布后，再次引發(fā)了網(wǎng)友的激烈討論，其中不乏一些種族主義的言論。

Disney released the first teaser trailer for its live-action take on The Little Mermaid over the weekend. But its release has reignited a racist backlash online, which first surfaced in 2019 following news of Bailey's casting, from some people who expressed their displeasure at making the film's leading character Black.
 
In the original animated film, released in 1989, Ariel, a fictional mermaid, is depicted as a white, red-haired woman.
 
有不滿意選角的網(wǎng)友認(rèn)為，角色不符合自己的“童年記憶”：
 
“討論誰更像愛麗兒不是種族歧視……何況30多年來，小美人魚愛麗兒一直都是這樣的人設(shè)。”

 
有網(wǎng)友表示不理解迪士尼為何非要更改原有的角色：“我不明白迪士尼干嘛老給角色換種族。我是墨西哥人但我不想看到一個墨西哥裔女性演愛麗兒。我就想知道如果之后出《公主和青蛙》真人版，主角蒂安娜改成白人角色大家什么反應(yīng)。”

 
有網(wǎng)友認(rèn)為，“如果迪士尼想要種族多元化，完全可以創(chuàng)作一個新的角色。”


不過，也有不少外國網(wǎng)友支持迪士尼的選角，并駁斥了持反對觀點的人。
 
“當(dāng)白人拍關(guān)于非洲和埃及的電影，卻使用白人演員時，怎么沒看到你們跳腳？反過來就成了大問題了。”


有網(wǎng)友指出，說真人版不尊重原版很可笑，因為迪士尼動畫就與《小美人魚》原著有很大差別。
 
“安徒生在1837年創(chuàng)作了《小美人魚》原著，它不是‘民間故事’或神話。原著中小美人魚的皮膚被描述為半透明的綠色。她的發(fā)色從未被提及。她每走一步都痛苦萬分，王子把她當(dāng)寵物一樣對待，最后娶了另一個女人。”

  
另據(jù)NBC報道，真人版預(yù)告公布后，國外社交媒體上，有不少非裔家長分享了自己孩子第一次觀看預(yù)告片時的反應(yīng)。視頻中，這些孩子們看到新版小美人魚出現(xiàn)，都十分開心激動。
 
在一個視頻中，小女孩的興奮之情溢于言表，激動地喊道：“她是黑人！”

 
另一個視頻中，一位小女孩在愛麗兒出場時興奮地從沙發(fā)上坐起來說，“我覺得她是棕色的耶！棕色的愛麗兒也很漂亮！”

In one of the reaction videos posted by TikTok user, a toddler named Emery lounges on the couch but sits up when Bailey appears on screen. "I think she's brown!" a beaming Emery says in the video. "Brown Ariel is cute."

In a recent interview with Variety, Bailey addressed the racism she faced, describing her grandparents’ encouragement.
 
“It was an inspiring and beautiful thing to hear their words of encouragement, telling me, ‘You don’t understand what this is doing for us, for our community, for all the little black and brown girls who are going to see themselves in you,’” she said they told her.

Bailey claimed that she didn't "pay attention to the negativity," instead focusing on gratitude as a way to ignore the backlash. "I want the little girl in me and the little girls just like me who are watching to know that they're special, and that they should be a princess in every single way," she said.
