3月2日早上，北京冬殘奧會(huì)火種采集儀式在八達(dá)嶺古長(zhǎng)城景區(qū)舉行，當(dāng)日火炬?zhèn)鬟f的主題是采集“和平之火。中國(guó)登山協(xié)會(huì)成員、肢殘運(yùn)動(dòng)員登上珠峰的第一人夏伯渝在此擔(dān)任第一棒火炬手。

The flame lighting ceremony for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games was held at the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing, on March 2. The first torchbearer is the first Chinese double amputee to reach the summit of Mount Qomolangma, 73-year-old climber Xia Boyu. 

“八達(dá)嶺長(zhǎng)城是這次冬殘奧會(huì)火炬?zhèn)鬟f的最高點(diǎn)，這就跟我登珠峰一樣。”雖然已經(jīng)年逾七旬，火炬手夏伯渝的聲音還是鏗鏘有力，“希望冰雪健兒在這次冬殘奧會(huì)上取得優(yōu)異成績(jī)。”

1975年，26歲的夏伯渝作為中國(guó)登山隊(duì)的隊(duì)員，第一次向珠峰發(fā)起挑戰(zhàn)。經(jīng)過(guò)2個(gè)月集訓(xùn)后，從北坡開(kāi)始攀登珠穆朗瑪峰。距離登頂200米處他們?cè)庥霰╋L(fēng)雪，被迫下撤。途中他把自己的睡袋讓給同行一名丟了睡袋的藏族隊(duì)友，意外凍壞雙腳，不得不截肢。

Xia's first attempt to scale the mountain was in 1975 as part of a group of 20 Chinese climbers. About 200 meters from the top, they were forced to turn back due to storms.

The harsh conditions during the descent resulted in severe frostbite in Xia’s legs, forcing doctors to amputate both feet at the age of 26.

雙腿安上假肢，也沒(méi)能阻止夏伯渝挑戰(zhàn)珠峰的決心。此后從2014年到2016年，夏伯渝又對(duì)珠峰進(jìn)行三次沖頂，即便一度距離峰頂只有94米，暴風(fēng)雪和雪崩仍然一次次阻止了這位老人。

He made three separate attempts to reach the top of the 8,848-meter mountain between 2014 and 2016, but nature thwarted all three. 

Avalanches obstructed their path in 2014. The trip in the following year was abandoned after the devastating Nepal earthquake. Xia was nearly 100 meters away from the top in 2016 when severe weather threatened the group’s safety, forcing another turnaround.

夏伯渝最終選擇放棄登頂，他說(shuō)，“我不想讓自己的夢(mèng)想成為別人的負(fù)擔(dān)。如果是我自己，即使是死，我也要死在峰頂。”

2018年，年近70歲的夏伯渝第五次挑戰(zhàn)珠峰，最終成功登頂，成為世界上成功登頂珠峰的最年長(zhǎng)雙腿截肢登山者。

夏伯渝的故事被制作成冒險(xiǎn)紀(jì)錄片《無(wú)盡攀登》，于去年12月在國(guó)內(nèi)公映。定檔海報(bào)中，夏伯渝借助一根繩索在山坡上攀登，一雙鋼鐵假肢牢牢地踩在峭壁上，令人深感震撼。


幾十年來(lái)，縱然年齡、身份發(fā)生了變化，但他那顆勇攀高峰的心，卻始終如一。“參加運(yùn)動(dòng)能減輕殘疾人的殘疾情況和家庭負(fù)擔(dān)，也會(huì)使他們的生活質(zhì)量有所提升。”夏伯渝表示，希望北京冬殘奧會(huì)的舉辦能推動(dòng)我國(guó)殘疾人冰雪運(yùn)動(dòng)更廣泛地開(kāi)展，“希望大家都能參與到冰雪運(yùn)動(dòng)中來(lái)。”
