3月2日，北京冬殘奧會開閉幕式總導演張藝謀透露，冬殘奧會開幕式與冬奧會開閉幕式不一樣。“冬奧會是冰雪藍，而這次是五彩斑斕的感覺，表達一種熱烈的、打動人心的情感。”

A day before the opening of the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games, renowned Chinese director for the Paralympics opening ceremony Zhang Yimou revealed that different from the ceremony at the Winter Olympics which emphasized blue of the ice and snow, the Paralympics show will be more colorful, highlighting passion, warmth and self-empowerment.
2022年北京冬殘奧會開幕式將以“生命的綻放”為主題，在80分鐘左右的時長內，秉持殘健融合的理念，通過十多個場上環(huán)節(jié)，在溫暖、感動的氛圍中，展現(xiàn)殘疾人對“更美好的生活、更包容的世界”的不懈追求。
The opening ceremony will be themed "the blossoming of life" and will last about 80 minutes, China Central Television reported. Through more than 10 sessions, it will present the relentless pursuit of people with disabilities for "a better life, a more inclusive world" in a heart-warming atmosphere.

據悉，本次冬殘奧會開幕式匯聚了來自全國多地、各行各業(yè)的參演人員， 其中殘疾人占比為30%，主創(chuàng)團隊運用仿真排練技術，提高排練效率，突顯人文關懷，通過將殘健融合的理念貫穿于內容和形式當中，闡釋自強不息、同心與共的精神內核。

About 30 percent of the performers will be people with disabilities from across the country and various fields. The design team used simulation rehearsal technology to improve rehearsal efficiency which shows humanistic care.
Highlighting the concept of the integration of groups with disabilities and those without disabilities, the opening ceremony will present the ideas of self-empowerment and unity.

北京2022年冬殘奧會開閉幕式導演沈晨在接受央視采訪時表示：我們表現(xiàn)殘疾人自己這方面，肯定是溫暖、感人的，因為講的都是每一個殘疾人自己的故事，但是我給了一個比較重要的理念，就是從頭貫穿始末，一直在強調“同心圓”的概念，無論是我們的舞美空間、視覺空間以及表演空間，“同心圓”本身是一個中國古老的文化概念，而且“同心圓”里面還有個非常好的寓意：團結、友誼、平等，對于殘健共融的這一屆冬殘奧開幕式，這個理念是最重要的亮點。
