疫情的到來打破了我們原本平靜的生活,但是也讓我們見證了責任和擔當。對于上海海洋大學水產(chǎn)與生命學院的青年教師黃林彬來說,本輪疫情以來,喂飽實驗室的每個活物就是每天工作的大事!
斑馬魚、金魚、小丑魚、青田田魚…… 在他看來,這些魚一方面是教師們多年來科研成果的載體,沒有它們研究就無法繼續(xù),另一方面,這些魚也關乎到很多研究生的畢業(yè)實驗,這其中任何一個差錯,都可能耽誤學生畢業(yè)。他笑侃自己總是“在喂養(yǎng)和去喂養(yǎng)的路上”。

據(jù)他介紹,作為學生宿舍片區(qū)(第一小區(qū))的外圍機動組成員,除了承擔運送三餐和保障物資等工作,他和其他幾位老師還承擔著學院五棟樓內(nèi)將近50個實驗室的喂養(yǎng)工作。
While taking care of students who have been locked down in campus, Huang Linbin, a researcher at the fisheries and life sciences school of Shanghai Ocean University, has also been busy attending to lab-managed aquatic creatures.
The creatures stored in the 50 labs, including fish, shrimp, shellfish and algae, are fundamental to teachers' oceanographic research and student experiments, Huang said.
Huang is one of the seven teachers who have been taking turns to feed these creatures and deliver meals to students.
他略帶調(diào)侃地表示,“我們的原則是優(yōu)先處理活著的東西。”老師們按照樓宇劃分,組建了每棟樓的喂養(yǎng)群,再細分到每個實驗室的群,老師和學生全員參與,每天照片視頻溝通,確保每一個細節(jié)都不出差錯。為了按照大家的不同實驗要求進行喂養(yǎng),老師們耐心地通過視頻連線,每個細節(jié)都不放過,比如,小顆粒的飼料,要告訴老師們喂幾勺,大顆粒的,則要告訴喂多少粒。

"Although we are equipped with biology knowledge, it takes time to get familiar with the creatures. The creatures' owners, most of whom are students, gave us instructions on when and how much to feed through video chats," said Huang.
而其中說起喂養(yǎng)斑馬魚時,就更為復雜了。斑馬魚吃的是鹵蟲。先要把蟲卵從冰箱里拿出來孵化,孵化過程需要24—36小時。之后,再把鹵蟲拿去喂斑馬魚,根據(jù)每缸魚數(shù)量的多少,用吸管吸1—2毫升不等的量喂養(yǎng)。
喂養(yǎng)的對象主要是魚蝦貝藻,而黃老師是學藻類的,他還要負責其他老師實驗室的搖藻工作。這是培養(yǎng)生物的基本操作,要通過搖動,讓可能沉下去的藻重新懸浮到水中。別小看這個動作,每天必須得搖一次。每天,大瓶15瓶,小瓶50瓶,他都堅持了下來。
除了魚、蝦、藻要喂養(yǎng),還有一種生物說出來大家可能覺得離譜,黃老師還負責幫研究生態(tài)系統(tǒng)的團隊喂養(yǎng)一種蚊子——搖蚊(跟平時我們所說的蚊子不同)。老師們每天把酵母沖水,喂給蚊子,感覺很像給孩子喂奶粉一樣,每天至少喂一次。養(yǎng)著養(yǎng)著,眼見著搖蚊一天天長大,有的甚至都在喂養(yǎng)容器里飛起來了。

Among the tasks involved is brewing yeast to feed the chironomids, a kind of freshwater insect, every day.
"It's like feeding formula to a baby. It's fulfilling to witness the growth of these chironomids," Huang said.
黃老師說:疫情當下,我們每一個老師都全力以赴。我們保障組幾名負責喂養(yǎng)的老師里,實驗員、專業(yè)教師、教授都有,但即使是教授,也一樣在兢兢業(yè)業(yè)地喂魚、送飯。
現(xiàn)在,我也作為“增援部隊”入住學生宿舍片區(qū)了??粗車膽?zhàn)友已經(jīng)應付自如、淡定無比,我也有點兒“云淡風輕”。他們都好奇,你怎么不緊張?我說,有你們在,我們沒問題的。
As many devices within the labs and incubators are still operational during the lockdown, the teachers also have to assist their quarantined students with recording experiment data daily.
"All teachers have actively responded to the call to support the school in the fight against COVID-19. No one has any complaints. I'm impressed by the solidarity and dedication of the faculty in these challenging times," he added.
