新型冠狀病毒感染的肺炎疫情發(fā)生以來(lái)，武漢最大的?？苽魅静♂t(yī)院——金銀潭醫(yī)院一直就是焦點(diǎn)所在。據(jù)央視網(wǎng)報(bào)道，這里最早收治了第一批新型冠狀病毒感染的肺炎患者。30多天來(lái)，600多名醫(yī)護(hù)人員為搶救生命晝夜奮戰(zhàn)。除了疫情本身，這所醫(yī)院的院長(zhǎng)——身患漸凍癥、拖著一雙跛腳、奔走在抗疫第一線的張定宇——也牽動(dòng)著很多人的心。

2019年12月29日，武漢市華南海鮮市場(chǎng)首批7名不明肺炎患者轉(zhuǎn)入位于武漢三環(huán)外的金銀潭醫(yī)院。多年從事傳染病防治，職業(yè)敏感讓張定宇第一時(shí)間判斷，這不是普通的傳染病。但是僅有的14個(gè)ICU床位，在面對(duì)疫情期間的高需求時(shí)，張定宇和同事們經(jīng)受了巨大的壓力。

The first seven patients with lung infections were sent to Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital on December 29. As an experienced doctor in infectious diseases, Zhang realized the war was on. But having to cope with the high demand with only 14 intensive care unit (ICU) wards, has given Zhang and his colleagues a lot of pressure and psychological stress.

 

張定宇提醒大家加強(qiáng)工作時(shí)的預(yù)防措施，并將患者安排到隔離病房，密切關(guān)注病患情況。一周后，從金銀潭醫(yī)院發(fā)出的樣本被確認(rèn)為新型冠狀病毒。

Zhang also cautioned his colleagues to take increased precautions while at work, and order patients to stay in isolation wards, keeping a close eye on their condition. The novel coronavirus was then identified one week later with the first few samples sent from Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital.



一個(gè)月后，隨著上海醫(yī)療隊(duì)以及軍隊(duì)醫(yī)療隊(duì)的到來(lái)，金銀潭醫(yī)院醫(yī)護(hù)裝備和人員不足的問(wèn)題得到了緩解。

The lack of medical equipment and medical staff was then eased as support from Shanghai and the army medical teams came in a month later.

然而，當(dāng)張定宇領(lǐng)導(dǎo)600多名醫(yī)護(hù)人員面對(duì)疫情時(shí)，他奇怪的走路方式引起了同事們的注意。最終，他承認(rèn)自己從2018年開始，罹患漸凍癥。漸凍癥會(huì)逐漸隔絕大腦和肌體之間的關(guān)聯(lián)，導(dǎo)致患者癱瘓，引起呼吸衰竭。

As Zhang leads over 600 doctors and nurses confronting the disease, his strange way to walk alarmed his colleagues. He finally admitted he had fallen ill with ALS since October 2018 after constant inquiries. ALS is a disease that gradually blocks the connection between brain and body. People with ALS become partially paralyzed leading to respiratory failure.

此前，張定宇并沒有告訴同事們他被確診患有絕癥漸凍癥（ALS，肌萎縮側(cè)索硬化）。他把這個(gè)秘密隱藏了近兩年的時(shí)間，直到在武漢抗擊疫情前線的這幾天，他走不動(dòng)了。

Zhang Dingyu didn't tell his colleagues that he had been diagnosed with an incurable nervous system disease: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He kept this secret for nearly two years until the day he couldn't walk anymore while on the front lines fighting the novel coronavirus in Wuhan.
 


在持續(xù)一個(gè)月高強(qiáng)度工作后，一天，張定宇收到了妻子的信息，讓他感到崩潰：在另一家醫(yī)院工作的她，被確診感染新型冠狀病毒。

One day, after working around the clock for nearly a month, Zhang received a message from his wife that brought him to his knees: She was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus while working at another hospital in Wuhan.


 
然而，當(dāng)妻子入院治療3天后，張定宇才有時(shí)間去探望，時(shí)間也只有30分鐘。幸運(yùn)的是，妻子在接受了10天的治療后痊愈了。

Zhang could only find time to visit his wife until three days after she got admitted to the hospital. Even then he could only stay for 30 minutes. Fortunately, the good news came that his wife had recovered ten days after treatment.

而這之后，張定宇依然不知疲倦的工作著，盡管雙腿拖累，他卻說(shuō)：“我必須跑得更快，才能跑贏時(shí)間；我必須跑得更快，才能從病毒手里搶回更多病人。”

But Zhang continues working tirelessly, and though it's a struggle to move quickly, he said, "I have to run, racing against time to save more patients from the deadly disease.

張定宇的故事和他對(duì)抗疫情的決心感動(dòng)了很多人。

Zhang's story has tugged at the heartstrings of many Chinese as he shows the determination to fight against the deadly coronavirus.



張定宇說(shuō)，自己正處在橫掃全世界的病毒風(fēng)暴中心，要傾盡全力保護(hù)自己的城市，保護(hù)武漢人民。

"We are at the center of a storm sweeping across the world, so we need to give all we have, give all we have to protect our city, and our Wuhan people," Zhang said.

“疫情終將會(huì)被我們戰(zhàn)勝！”

"I believe that we'll conquer this disease," he said.
