當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間23日，英國(guó)衛(wèi)生大臣馬特•漢考克在一檔節(jié)目中說(shuō)，英國(guó)民眾應(yīng)該“感謝”他的團(tuán)隊(duì)，隨后就被主持人皮爾斯•摩根給懟了。
 


據(jù)英國(guó)itv網(wǎng)站報(bào)道，幾天以前，倫敦高等法院裁定，英國(guó)政府未能披露新冠疫情期間數(shù)十億英鎊個(gè)人防護(hù)裝備（PPE）支出的細(xì)節(jié)，違反了法律。而漢考克堅(jiān)稱，面對(duì)第一波疫情時(shí)，英國(guó)“沒(méi)有全國(guó)性”的PPE短缺問(wèn)題。因此，漢考克被指責(zé)“厚顏無(wú)恥的撒謊”。

Matt Hancock was accused of a "barefaced lie" after he insisted there was “no national outage” of personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS staff during the first wave of the Covid pandemic. The health secretary spoke days after the High Court ruled the government unlawfully failed to publish details of billions of pounds’ worth of coronavirus-related contracts.

Hancock has said legal cases about transparency returns were “second order” to saving lives and said his officials had been working long hours to procure PPE instead.

In the interview, he also claimed the NHS was “very close” to running out of PPE but prevented the worst thanks to his team - despite desperate shortages across the country.

當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間2月24日，英國(guó)衛(wèi)生和社會(huì)保障部公布的疫情最新數(shù)據(jù)顯示，過(guò)去24小時(shí)英國(guó)新增新冠肺炎確診病例9938例，累計(jì)確診達(dá)4144577例；新增死亡病例442例，累計(jì)121747死亡例。

Facing several calls to apologise after the court ruling, Hancock once again refused,“I won’t apologise because to apologise would imply that I’d do something differently,” he said.

She said: "It is an insult to claim there was no shortage of PPE. Many frontline workers had to ration protective equipment, putting themselves at risk. Lots of it was inadequate and poorly fitting, and some NHS staff had to make gowns themselves from bin bags."
