2021年3月9日，外交部歐洲司負(fù)責(zé)人召見(jiàn)英國(guó)駐華大使吳若蘭，奉示就其在社交媒體發(fā)表不當(dāng)署名文章提出嚴(yán)正交涉。

Caroline Elizabeth Wilson, the United Kingdom's ambassador to China, was summoned by a chief official with the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Department of European Affairs on Tuesday.



歐洲司負(fù)責(zé)人指出，對(duì)方作為英國(guó)駐華外交機(jī)構(gòu)最高級(jí)別代表，通過(guò)官方平臺(tái)發(fā)文為因虛假新聞和不實(shí)報(bào)道受制裁的個(gè)別外媒鳴冤叫屈，刻意混淆新聞?wù)u謗和新聞監(jiān)督，對(duì)外方打壓中國(guó)媒體卻“選擇性失明”。文章通篇充斥著“教師爺”式的傲慢和意識(shí)形態(tài)的偏見(jiàn)，顛倒黑白、操弄雙標(biāo)，這一做法同外交人員身份及外交機(jī)構(gòu)職能嚴(yán)重不符。文章一經(jīng)發(fā)出就引起中國(guó)公眾的普遍不滿，受到強(qiáng)烈批評(píng)。

After some foreign media had been sanctioned for groundless reporting, Wilson issued the article to defend them, deliberately confused slander in news with supervision on news and she, on a selective basis, turned a blind eye to foreign suppression of Chinese media, the Chinese official said. The article is full of didactic arrogance and ideology-related prejudice, it subverts black and white and adopts double standards, the official said. It drifts away from the duties of diplomats and the mission of diplomatic agencies, and the article triggered great discontent among the Chinese public, the official noted.

The Chinese government and its people never oppose foreign media themselves but those erroneous moves of producing fake news and viciously attacking China, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese political system with excuses of "freedom of the press" and "freedom of speech", the official said.

我想說(shuō)的是，看一個(gè)媒體最重要的是看其報(bào)道是否遵守新聞職業(yè)道德，是否客觀公正。

What I want to say is that when you give your opinion on a media agency, the most important thing you need to consider is whether its reports are consistent with professional ethics, objectivity and impartiality.

中方一直對(duì)包括英國(guó)媒體在內(nèi)的外國(guó)記者來(lái)華報(bào)道持開(kāi)放和歡迎態(tài)度，為其在華工作生活提供便利。中方反對(duì)的是意識(shí)形態(tài)偏見(jiàn)、借所謂新聞自由炮制假新聞和違反新聞職業(yè)道德的行為。

China has been open to, welcoming and providing convenience for foreign journalists covering news in China, including those with British media agencies. What we oppose is ideological bias against China, fake news in the name of press freedom, and behaviors that breach professional ethics.

我還要指出的是，中國(guó)政府鼓勵(lì)媒體依法進(jìn)行輿論監(jiān)督，保障新聞從業(yè)人員的合法權(quán)益，保護(hù)新聞出版單位的知識(shí)產(chǎn)權(quán)。

I would also like to point out that the Chinese government encourages oversight by media organizations in accordance with law, protects legitimate rights and interests of news workers, and the intellectual property of press and publication agencies.
