據(jù)路透社報道，當?shù)貢r間5月18日，美國眾議院議長佩洛西在國會兩黨聽證會上以所謂中國“侵犯人權(quán)”為由，呼吁美國對2022年北京冬奧會進行“外交抵制”。
U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called for a U.S. diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
在肆意批評中國人權(quán)事務(wù)后，佩洛西還妄稱出席冬奧會的全球領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人將失去“道德權(quán)威”。
Pelosi criticized China on human rights, saying that global leaders who attend would lose their "moral authority".
針對佩洛西的這一言論，一名美國政府的高級官員在接受路透社采訪時表示，美國政府對于2022冬奧會的立場沒有改變。
Asked about Pelosi's comments, a senior U.S. administration official told Reuters the administration's position on the 2022 Olympics had not changed.
美國奧委會：抵制奧運會的歷史并不“令人鼓舞”
據(jù)中國日報網(wǎng)報道，針對上述聽證會，美國奧委會首席執(zhí)行官薩拉•赫什蘭發(fā)表書面聲明，其中表示，“過去對于奧運會的抵制都沒能達到政治上的企圖，這些歷史應(yīng)該讓我們停止考慮下一次的抵制。”
In a written statement to the hearing, Sarah Hirshland, the chief executive officer of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), said, "Past Olympic boycotts have failed to achieve political ends — and they should give all of us pause in considering another boycott."
報道寫道，在聽證會前，赫什蘭致信美國國會，要求美國不要抵制將于2022年2月4日-20日舉辦的冬奧會。目前，尚不清楚這封信和本周二的聲明是否內(nèi)容相同。此外，在聽證會上也沒有呈現(xiàn)赫什蘭的聲明。
Days before the hearing was held, Hirshland wrote to Congress, requesting that the US not boycott the 2022 Beijing Olympics, scheduled in Beijing for Feb 4-20. It was not immediately clear if the letter and Tuesday's written statement are the same, as her statement was not aired during the streaming of the virtual hearing.

In the two-page letter dated on Wednesday, Hirshland said boycotting the games only punishes athletes, adding that "an athlete boycott of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is not the solution to geopolitical issues".

She reminded the lawmakers that Olympic boycotts "do not have an encouraging history"." In 1980, the US Government called for an athlete boycott of the 1980 Olympic Summer Games in Moscow……As a result, 461 American athletes — the balance of them teenagers and college students representing almost every US state — qualified to compete in Moscow only to have the opportunity taken from them," she wrote, adding, "Many never had the chance to compete at the Olympic Games again."
趙立堅：這種“無知者無畏”的勇氣從何而來
針對美國國會眾議院議長佩洛西近日以所謂“人權(quán)問題”為由呼吁抵制北京2022年冬奧會一事，外交部發(fā)言人趙立堅19日在例行記者會上作出回應(yīng)：
美方個別人基于意識形態(tài)和政治偏見，借所謂人權(quán)問題對中方污蔑抹黑，企圖干擾、阻礙、破壞北京冬奧會的籌辦和舉行，中方表示強烈不滿和堅決反對。美方個別人的言論充斥著謊言和虛假信息，是典型的美式鬧劇，注定不得人心，也不會得逞。
China deplores and rejects the attempt by certain US individuals to sling mud at China and sabotage the preparation and holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics by playing the human rights card out of ideological and political prejudice. These people's remarks are filled with shameless lies and disinformation. Their typical US-style staged farce will gain no support and is doomed to fail.

美方個別人自詡所謂“道德權(quán)威”，不知這種“無知者無畏”的勇氣從何而來？必須指出的是，種族主義是美國長達四個世紀的瘡疤，至今仍在流膿流血?？纯?70多萬遭“種族滅絕”的印第安原住民以及數(shù)以萬計“不能呼吸”的弗洛伊德們、深受“仇亞”之苦的亞裔們，不難看出，一部美國發(fā)展史可謂印第安人血淚史、黑人奴隸剝削史、少數(shù)族裔受辱史。
I wonder what makes these US individuals feel they have the "moral authority", and what gives them the confidence when they are being utterly ignorant? For four centuries, racism has been a scar on the American society that is still bleeding to this day. More than 4.7 million American Indians have been subjected to genocide; tens of thousands of people like George Floyd cannot breathe; and Asian Americans fall victim to hate crimes. The US history is a record of blood and tears of the Indians, of slavery and exploitation of the black people, and of humiliation to minority groups.

美方個別人為什么“擔心”各國人士參加北京冬奧會或前往中國？因為他們害怕甚至恐懼各國人士來中國之后，就會了解中國人權(quán)事業(yè)蓬勃發(fā)展的事實和真相，就會無情戳破反華勢力炮制的種種涉華謊言，就會發(fā)現(xiàn)美方借所謂中國人權(quán)問題轉(zhuǎn)移視線、掩蓋他們歷史和現(xiàn)實人權(quán)罪行的意圖，就會看穿美國等個別西方國家借所謂人權(quán)問題遏制中國發(fā)展的用心。這更加戳穿了美方所謂民主、人權(quán)的虛偽面目。
Why would they "worry about" people's participation in the Beijing Winter Olympics or visit to China? Because these US individuals are afraid and even frightened that if people from other countries pay a visit to China, they will see the facts and truth of vigorous development of China's human rights cause and lay bare China-related lies concocted by anti-China forces, that they will find US intention to shift attention and hide their historical and present human rights crimes under the pretext of so-called "China's human rights issues", and that they will see through the US and certain Western countries' attempt to contain China's development in the name of so-called human rights issues. This further exposes the hypocrisy of the so-called democracy and human rights as claimed by the US side.
