印度成為繼美國、巴西后第三個累計(jì)新冠死亡病例數(shù)超過30萬例的國家。
India is now the third country in the world after Brazil and the United States to surpass more than 300,000 official deaths.
盡管近期印度單日新冠確診病例數(shù)多日下降，但由于死亡病例報告相對于確診病例報告滯后兩周左右，因此當(dāng)前死亡病例數(shù)仍維持高位。
德里部長：政府疫苗政策是個“笑話”
當(dāng)前印度日增確診病例減少，但疫苗短缺問題仍然沒有得到解決。
據(jù)CNN報道，印度德里副部長Manish Sisodia在當(dāng)?shù)貢r間周一發(fā)表網(wǎng)絡(luò)講話，在談及印度中央政府在疫苗采購和分發(fā)方面所做的工作時，他稱印度中央政府的疫苗推廣就是個“笑話”，并且表示包括輝瑞在內(nèi)的國際公司拒絕了他們的疫苗采購申請。
Delhi’s deputy chief minister said the Indian central government's vaccine rollout is “a joke," saying international companies including Pfizer have declined their separate requests for vaccines.“What kind of a joke is being made of vaccines,” Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said in an online address Monday, while discussing the central government's efforts at vaccine procurement and distribution.

“If we ask the central government for vaccines from Indian companies, they say they will give us only 4 lakh (400,000 doses),” Sisodia said. The population of Delhi was more than 11 million in the last census in 2011.
Sisodia補(bǔ)充道，地方政府直接聯(lián)系外國疫苗制造公司時，卻被告知公司正在和印度聯(lián)邦政府進(jìn)行溝通，莫德納和輝瑞拒絕了他們的請求，表示不會將疫苗出售給單獨(dú)的印度地方邦。
Sisodia added that when state governments went directly to foreign companies, they were told the companies were negotiating with the federal government instead. The deputy chief minister claimed Moderna and Pfizer had declined the local government's requests for vaccinations, saying they would not sell to individual states.

此外，Sisodia還質(zhì)疑為何印度仍然僅依靠兩款國產(chǎn)疫苗，而這些疫苗在出口時并未首先滿足國內(nèi)需求。“為什么沒有疫苗了，哪去了？我說過很多次，應(yīng)該批評中央政府。如果印度被迫面對新冠疫情壓力，那都是因?yàn)橹醒胝囊呙绻芾碚邚氐资×恕?rdquo;
Sisodia questioned why India is still dependent solely on two domestically-made vaccines, which were exported without first catering to in-country demand. “Why are vaccines not available, where did they go? I have said many times the central government is to blame for this," Sisodia said. "If the country is forced to deal with the brunt of corona it's because the central government has completely failed in vaccine management."

瑜伽大師侮辱現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學(xué)引發(fā)憤怒
面對嚴(yán)峻的疫情形勢，印度的醫(yī)療資源也面臨巨大壓力。不過就在此時，還有瑜伽大師發(fā)表針對現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學(xué)的侮辱性言論，引發(fā)醫(yī)護(hù)人員憤怒。
據(jù)BBC報道，印度醫(yī)生抗議瑜伽大師Baba Ramdev近來針對現(xiàn)代醫(yī)藥的爭議性言論。后者曾說上萬新冠死亡病例是在使用現(xiàn)代醫(yī)藥后死亡的，并且嘲諷那些急需氧氣瓶的患者。
Doctors in India have hit out against yoga guru Baba Ramdev over his controversial statements against modern medicine. He recently said that tens of thousands died of Covid after taking modern medicines and mocked patients for trying to get oxygen cylinders.
在社交媒體上，流傳著Ramdev嘲諷患者的視頻，盡管尚不清楚視頻何時錄制，但是可以聽出他提到的背景是4-5月時印度多個城市出現(xiàn)了醫(yī)用氧氣缺乏。
A video of Baba Ramdev mocking patients for trying to find oxygen went viral earlier this month. It's not clear when he made the statement, but he is heard making references to oxygen shortages in several cities in April and May.
據(jù)BBC報道，Ramdev在視頻中說“氧氣是上天給的”、“傻子正在找氧氣瓶，呼吸免費(fèi)的氧氣就好了”、“為什么你們抱怨氧氣、病床和火葬不足”……此外，還有視頻顯示Ramdev還曾說過“對抗療法很愚蠢”等。
而這一番言論，也遭到醫(yī)生、患者家屬的強(qiáng)烈批評，要求其道歉。
The statements drew sharp criticism from doctors and families of Covid patients who demanded an apology.
據(jù)《印度時報》網(wǎng)站報道，印度醫(yī)藥協(xié)會向Ramdev發(fā)出了法律聲明，并呼吁印度有關(guān)部門對此采取措施。
在印度衛(wèi)生官員發(fā)言批評后，這位瑜伽大師表示撤回自己的言論。
The guru withdrew his statement after the health minister criticised him.
另據(jù)專家預(yù)測，印度第二波疫情可能于7月結(jié)束，但是6個月后，可能將迎來第三輪疫情。
