報(bào)道稱，倫敦市長(zhǎng)表示，倫敦地鐵的乘客們，很快就能在每個(gè)地鐵站和隧道中使用手機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)了，到2024年底將實(shí)現(xiàn)網(wǎng)絡(luò)全覆蓋。

London underground passengers will soon be able to use their phones in the depths of every tube station and tunnel, the mayor has pledged, with mobile coverage throughout the network by the end of 2024.

倫敦交通局表示，當(dāng)?shù)貛讉€(gè)最繁忙的站點(diǎn)將很快開(kāi)始進(jìn)行準(zhǔn)備工作，比如Oxford Circus和Tottenham Court Road and Bank站，都將在明年底成為第一批入網(wǎng)站點(diǎn)。倫敦交通局和名為BAI Communications的通訊基建公司達(dá)成了20年的協(xié)議。

Transport for London (TfL) said work to prepare some of the capital’s busiest stations, including Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Bank, would begin soon, and they would be among the first fully connected stations by the end of next year. TfL has awarded a 20-year concession to BAI Communications.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said it will help "stimulate our city's economy." The new network will support 4G and 5G rollout and will be the most advanced of its kind in the world, TfL said. All mobile operators will be able to use the new network.

上個(gè)月連任成功的薩迪克•漢還曾向倫敦市民許諾，如果連任成功，將讓地鐵網(wǎng)絡(luò)實(shí)現(xiàn)4G全覆蓋。

The London mayor, Sadiq Khan, who was re-elected last month, said: “I promised Londoners that if they re-elected me for a second term as mayor I would deliver 4G throughout the tube network.

交通局的科級(jí)官員則表示，倫敦地鐵誕生于19世紀(jì)，實(shí)現(xiàn)網(wǎng)絡(luò)全覆蓋可以確保地鐵更適合21世紀(jì)的用戶。之后，設(shè)施也準(zhǔn)備好無(wú)縫升級(jí)到5G。

Shashi Verma, the chief technology officer at TfL, said: London underground was born in the 19th century, and this concession to deliver mobile coverage to the whole tube network ensures it continues to adapt for customers in the 21st century. The infrastructure would be ready to seamlessly upgrade to 5G, TfL said.
