As Christmas Day is just around the corner, Disney and Pixar are ready to give fans a musical feast as a gift.

On Dec 25, the animated film Soul will be released in Chinese mainland theaters.

Soul tells the story of middle-school music teacher Joe Gardner, who has wanted nothing more than to be a musician. One day, he gets the chance after impressing some jazz musicians at a club. But before he can get his big break, an untimely accident takes his life, causing his soul to be sent to the Great Beyond. Gardner manages to escape to the Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Here Gardner meets a soul, 22, who he tries to convince of the beauty of living.
