Wearing wristbands with the names of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant written on them, 17-year-old Tibetan girl Cigla plays her favorite sport – basketball – at Nagqu No 2 Senior High School in Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region.
17歲的西藏女孩次拉，戴著繡有詹姆斯和科比名字的腕套，在拉薩那曲第二高級(jí)中學(xué)打籃球，這是她最喜歡的運(yùn)動(dòng)。

Cigla comes from a poor herder’s family in northern Tibet’s Nagqu city. She now sets her mind on entering a sports college to study basketball.
次拉來(lái)自西藏北部那曲市的一個(gè)牧民家庭，如今她決心進(jìn)入體育大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)籃球。

For her, studying in Lhasa, the region’s most developed city, has made it much easier for her to realize her basketball dream.
對(duì)次拉來(lái)說(shuō)，在拉薩這個(gè)西藏地區(qū)最發(fā)達(dá)的城市學(xué)習(xí)，能更加容易實(shí)現(xiàn)她的籃球夢(mèng)。

With an average altitude of over 4,500 meters, Nagqu is among the most uninhabitable places in Tibet, known as the “roof of the world”. Low-oxygen environments and extreme weather have long compromised the health of Nagqu students, hampering the development of primary education in the area.
平均海拔4500米以上的那曲市，是西藏最不適宜居住地區(qū)之一，被稱為“世界的屋頂”。高寒缺氧和極端的天氣長(zhǎng)期損害著那曲學(xué)生的健康，阻礙了該地區(qū)初等教育的發(fā)展。

“The students had barely played any sports due to limited sports facilities and frequent bad weather in Nagqu,” said Bachug, the school’s physical education (PE) teacher.
“有限的體育設(shè)施以及那曲頻繁的惡劣天氣使得學(xué)生們幾乎不參加任何體育運(yùn)動(dòng)，”學(xué)校的體育老師巴珠說(shuō)道。

However, in a bid to ensure equal access to quality education, the Tibet regional government has established several schools in Lhasa to recruit Nagqu students, according to China.org. Like Cigla, many Nagqu students are from poor farming and herding families.
然而，據(jù)中國(guó)政府網(wǎng)消息，為了確保大家能公平地接受高質(zhì)量教育，西藏政府在拉薩建了幾所學(xué)校招收像次拉這樣的學(xué)生，許多那曲的學(xué)生均來(lái)自貧困的農(nóng)業(yè)或放牧家庭。

The school campuses in Lhasa have seven concrete basketball courts, a standard soccer field and a sports stadium. That gives students opportunities to train their bodies and find the sport that appeals to them.
拉薩學(xué)校的校園里有7個(gè)混凝土制的籃球場(chǎng)，一個(gè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)足球場(chǎng)和一個(gè)體育場(chǎng)，這使得學(xué)生們能夠有機(jī)會(huì)鍛煉身體和找到自己喜歡的運(yùn)動(dòng)。

Basketball is one of the most popular sports among the girls at the school. According to Bachug, more than a quarter of the approximately 1,600 female students regularly practice the sport during PE classes or as extracurricular activities. In addition, basketball competitions between classes are regularly held to draw more girls to the sport.
籃球在學(xué)校女生當(dāng)中是最受歡迎的運(yùn)動(dòng)之一。據(jù)巴珠介紹，學(xué)校中四分之一以上的女孩子們，大約1600人，都在體育課和課外活動(dòng)中打籃球。除此之外，班級(jí)間定期舉辦的籃球比賽也吸引了不少女生加入到這項(xiàng)運(yùn)動(dòng)中。

Dawa Droma, a senior at the school, said her passion for the sport started from her first basketball game in her freshman year.
高中女孩達(dá)瓦卓瑪對(duì)于籃球的熱愛(ài)就始于高一的一場(chǎng)籃球比賽。

“I had never touched a basketball before that game but joined the class team anyway. When I scored and heard my classmates cheer for me, I couldn’t feel more proud. That’s how I fell in love with basketball and never looked back,” she recalled.
“以前我從來(lái)沒(méi)有碰過(guò)籃球，但還是加入了班級(jí)籃球隊(duì)。學(xué)校組織籃球比賽，我得分后聽(tīng)到同學(xué)在場(chǎng)下歡呼，我感到十分自豪，就是這樣我愛(ài)上了籃球，一往直前，”她回憶道。

Reflecting on the influence of basketball on her life, Dawa Droma said the sport has helped her get fit and build up confidence over the years.
回想到籃球?qū)λ松挠绊懀_(dá)瓦卓瑪說(shuō)這項(xiàng)運(yùn)動(dòng)讓她這些年不僅鍛煉了身體，還增強(qiáng)了自信。

“Meeting players from different schools has certainly made me a more outgoing person,” she said.
“與來(lái)自不同學(xué)校的球員見(jiàn)面也讓我成了一個(gè)更加外向的人，”她說(shuō)道。

With a great passion for the sport, Dawa Droma hopes to carry on her connection with basketball in the future.
出于對(duì)籃球的熱愛(ài)，達(dá)瓦卓瑪希望未來(lái)能夠繼續(xù)保持自己與籃球的聯(lián)結(jié)。
