Chinese animation has gained a foothold in the streaming giant Netflix with Scissor Seven.
中國動畫憑《刺客伍六七》在流媒體巨頭網(wǎng)飛（Netflix）有了立足之地。
After first airing in China in 2018, it debuted globally as a Netflix Original in 2020, the first Chinese animated series to do so. Now, its third season was released on Netflix on Oct 3.
《刺客伍六七》于2018年在中國首播，2020年作為網(wǎng)飛原創(chuàng)劇在全球首播，這也是中國首個原創(chuàng)動畫劇集登陸網(wǎng)飛平臺。如今，該劇第三季已于10月3日在網(wǎng)飛發(fā)布。
It tells the story of an assassin called “Seven”, who works undercover as a hairdresser and tries to recover his lost memories after a major injury as he begins a journey of self-discovery.
《刺客伍六七》講述了一個名叫“伍六七”的刺客的故事，他以理發(fā)師的工作為刺客身份打掩護，踏上尋找自我的旅程，試圖恢復(fù)在身受重傷后失去的記憶。
The series has so far reached audiences in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide with about 29 language subtitles.

The animated comedy can thank its large following both domestically and internationally on its blend of humor, touching stories, amazing visuals and beautiful folk music.

“We pursued cooperation with Netflix because we’re greatly confident in the quality of our content,” Zou Shasha, the producer of the series, told CGTN. “We’re convinced that it will be understood and adored by foreign audiences.”

Scissor Seven has received positive reviews from both fans and critics. So far, all three seasons of the series earned a score of over 9 out of 10 on the social platforms Bilibili and Douban. In 2018, the series’ first season was screened at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and became the first Chinese production to compete in the festival’s TV Films, which is comparable to the Oscars to animators.
《刺客伍六七》收獲了粉絲和評論家的好評。到目前為止，在社交平臺嗶哩嗶哩和豆瓣上，該劇的三季得分均超過了9分(滿分10分)。2018年，《刺客伍六七》第一季在昂西國際動畫電影節(jié)上放映，成為第一部入選該電影節(jié)“系列動畫”單元的中國作品，堪比入圍動畫界的奧斯卡獎。
Zou believes it’s not a coincidence, as the work’s theme is to break down prejudice and hatred with love and tolerance. “This is a powerful and universal concept that connects with audiences everywhere,” she said.
